ACTIVITIES
We are fortunate to have some great places to visit within walking distance.
The Hook and Hatchet pub is not far from us and offers great food at reasonable prices. www.hookandhatchetpub.co.uk
Approximately a mile away is an amazing Arts & Crafts Studio: www.thisartofmine.co.uk
Miles of public bridleways and footpaths leading from the farm and a selection of pubs within hiking distance! We leave OS Explorer Maps in all cottages.
Thurnham itself does have its own castle ruins and woodland but for the more adventurous there are scores of places to visit nearby such as Detling Showground, Canterbury, Leeds Castle, Chatham Historic Dockyard, Rochester Castle, Hop Farm Country Park, and the Carriage Museum in Maidstone along with many other places in the historic town. Headcorn Airfield and Museum is also close by. We have a wide range of up-to-date tourist information leaflets.
HORSERIDING
We no longer have a riding school at Coldblow farm but we occasionally have stables available for bed and breakfast.

WALKING & CYCLING
Being based on the North Downs means that we have access to miles of footpaths and bridleways. The Woodland Trust owns 580 acres (200 ha) of the Hucking Estate nearby to preserve the ancient woodland and plant new woodland. A walks route leaflet is available from our farm office. The Hook & Hatchet Pub is ideally placed for thirsty visitors to the Hucking Estate walks. Or, you could leave the non walkers in the pub garden!
ARTS & CRAFTS
For art and craft enthusiasts is This Art of Mine just a mile along our lane at Little Budds Farm. The studio is open for all sorts of drop in sessions so visit: www.thisartofmine.co.uk for full info. A wide variety of activities: T shirt painting, mug decorating up to a range of more elaborate items for young or old with little or no talent or more than that! Everyone who has visited the studio have been delighted with the experience. Booking essential for large groups.
